first steps..

on friday we went to a nursery to buy plants for our garden. amazing how many differnet plants they had! we decided to take a jasmin to cover one of the fences.
his flowers smell wonderful and intense
(a pity that you cant smell it from the photo...).
some herbs
(e.g. lemongrass, rosemary, mint, sage, basil, chive, parsley...),
some flowers to give the garden some colours and a nicer atmosphere,

and a kumquat tree for me =)

Ah, it is a qumquat, I thought so :-) Happy to see you getting really started in the garden, Sweetie.

I've never heard of a kumquat tree... can you eat the fruit?

yes, you can eat it. a kumquat/qumquat looks like a very small orange and you eat them without removing the skin or anything. they are a bit sour but also sweet (depends on the kind).
r. does not like them, but i do. so it is mine =)
