firmin by sam savage

Firmin - adventures of an metropolitan lowlife.

i just finished reading it and was deeply moved by this small and ugly rat that wants nothing more then to be human or at least to be able to comunicate with them.

as the video tells firmin is born in the basement of an old book store. he has 12 siblings and there is only place for 12 at his mothers breast so he has to think of something else. that is how he discovers how good paper tasts, books especially. and finaly he starts reading  instead of eating them and dives into the amazing worlds that literatur offers.

from now on he developes an incredible gift of imagination and starts falling in love with his first human being: norman, the owner of he bookstore.
