...and everything stops

yesterday evening and today until the sun goes down it is Yom HaShoah, the jewish/ israeli remembrance day for the holocaust. every year at 10:00 in the morning the sirens can be heard for 2 min. during that time everything stops - cars, buses, people, trains... everything stops for 2 min. to remember the horrors of the holocaust.
then life continues almost as if nothing happened.

before i came to israel i had never seen something like that. everyone stops. the traffic stops and people get out of their cars and stand. i find it very touching and a nice gesture. there is a similar day for the fallen soldiers next week (Yom HaZikaron) where the same thing happens twice. then it is Independence day and literally everyone in israel has a bbq in the weirdest places.
we will see if i will be able to capture some of those with my camera =)
