fast food generation...

i was aware that people take their kids to mc donalds, kfc and burger king and i was aware of the damages that that would probably do to their small bodies but i would have never imagined that there are kids that grow up on only junk food... can you imagine? ONLY french fries, greasy pizza, chicken wings and burgers... also i know that there are picky kids (and adults) as i people that eat only certain things what i did not know s why they are so picky and how to change or avoid that altogether.

a few days ago i saw this documentary about babies that live on fast food and was shocked (because really all they eat is junk) and facinated by the sollutions for overcoming picky eating and by the explanations how and why kids might be picky eaters.

Fast Food Baby - BBC Documentary

obviously eating junk food all the time will make you gain weight and probably will cause all sorts of other problems but i am still amazed at how slight changes in diet and behaviour can chang all that. have a look here at how those small things can change peoples lives:

Too Fat To Toddle - BBC Documentary

and it is the same problem everywhere... we just saw it in britain, the same in the US:

The Weight of the Nation: Part 1 - Consequences (HBO Docs)

The Weight of the Nation: Part 2 - Choices (HBO Docs)

The Weight of the Nation: Part 3 - Children in Crisis (HBO Docs)

and we are exporting this problem to china, india, mexico, brazil...

Globesity: Fat's New Frontier

it is incredible how fast this problem is expanding, those countries go straigt from underweight and malnurished to overweight and obese. this just makes me want to grow my own food even more, regaining control of what i put in my body, being able to choose healthy and natural foods.
what are your thoughts on this? i would love to hear about it.

It really is frightening, isn't it! Good post, by the way.

my first comment apparently did not go through...

I really enjoyed this post and I love that you shared it! As a retired schoolteacher from California I was appalled at what the kids brought in their lunchboxes. But even worse was what the school passed off as healthy and balanced nutrition!
